Buisness for sale. Vintage arcade game and television cathode ray tube (CRT) Rejuvination for both color and black & white picture tubes.
I operated this CRT Rejuvination business years ago, then I semi-retired and decided to start Probe Electronics online website.
As the Rejuvination Business was so niche and lucrative I had planned to start it up again, however as I don't drive anymore I'm offering it for sale, the business comes with a quality Swe-Check Tube Tester and Rejuvinator which includes tube adaptors & cables to suit most picture tubes, and full instructions on how to rejuvinate tubes along with my ongoing assistance if required.
The process of tube rejuvination is very simple, firstly take a look at the quality of the picture on the game or TV you are about to rejuvinate, then unplug the power to it, unscrew and remove the back cover (the bottom cover in the case of a tabletop machine) carefully unplug the circuit board attached to the rear end of the picture tube, select and install the adaptor with the same socket as is on the circuit board and plug it onto the tube, switch your rejuvinator on, from there follow the testers simple instructions to test and rejuvinate the tube. Once done switch off your rejuvinator and remove it from the tube, carefully and securely refit the circuit board making sure not to bend any of the tubes pins and avoid accidentally bumping or moving any adjustable controls on the circuit board, plug the game or TV back in, power it up and take a look at the result. There may be occasions where some minor adjustments to the brightness and the focus may be required, unless you have prior knowledge and experience with these adjustments a call to me would be your best course of action before attempting anything, keep in mind the danger of shock from very high voltages exist in the back of any product that has a picture tube! Once you are happy with your job refit the back cover, job done. It won't take long before you become proficient at tube rejuvination.
I was charging a flat rate of $400.00 to rejuvinate any picture tube on-site in the Metropolitan area, customers were very happy to pay this amount given that they love their arcade machines, and once rejuvenated the picture became alive again in brightness, contrast and clarity, keep in mind, most old picture tubes need rejuvination.
On extremely rare occasions a picture tube was beyond rejuvination so I always advised customers of that and the possibility of the tube dying totally, this event had happened only a couple of times out of the hundreds and hundreds of tubes I'd resurrected, if you find rejuvination is impossible a call-out fee only is charged.
All that's required to start up is a bit of practical knowledge and preferably, but not essential, knowledge of picture tubes, just organise some advertising on social media platforms and get your name out amongst the gaming fraternity, word of mouth worked the best for me, visiting Game Arcades and talking to the owners, offering them reduced rates can be productive too.
Once you've done 2 to 3 jobs you will have retrieved your $1,000 outlay, after that everything is pure profit.
NOTE: The sale of this CRT Rejuvination Business is a private sale and is in no way associated with Probe Electronics, I am using the Probe Electronics website to simply advertise it.
